Basic Jerky Recipe

2/3 cup Soy Sauce
2/3 cup Worchestershire Sauce
1 1/2 Tablespoon Liquid Smoke
1 Tablespoon Black Pepper ground
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon Onion Powder
1 teaspoon Garlic Powder

Marinate 24 hours

Options:
want it spicier add more pepper, want it HOT add dried chili pepper seeds and flakes.
From this recipe you can add any dried herbs and spices or combinations there of.

  1. Reminds me of something someone found written on the back of an envelope. how much meat is this supposed to marinate? anybody know?

    • Kitty, as much meat as you can stuff into the container and cover with the liquid! I purchase those Sirloin Roasts from Costco, very lean. I guess I should add that I partially freeze the meat to slice thin. I have a meat slicer but have also sliced with a very sharp knife. The recipe was given to me on an old envelope! LOL! from a sweet neighbor lady decades ago. I don’t know where she got it from.

      • I thought so!!! my grandma wrote hers on the backs of envelopes now and then. I have one written in my grandpa’s hand somewhere, but it’s so sparse in detail I can’t say I could use it.
